This was my second cruise and all the more exciting because it was our honeymoon. It was even more exciting because we were cruising on the brand new Disney Fantasy. We drove down to Port Canaveral, Florida where we boarded the ship around noon. The process of getting in and out of the ship terminal was a breeze. The security check was much more pleasant compared to the TSA version you receive when boarding a plane. The check-in was simple and before we knew it, we were surrounded by Disney magic – my wife was in heaven.
The Disney Fantasy is a huge vessel and the newest – making it the fourth in the Disney fleet. It’s about 1000 feet long and nearly 130 feet tall and weighs in around 130,000 tons. It’s amazing that it floats! It’s packed with entertainment for all ages, even adults believe it or not. There’s just about everything you can imagine aboard the Disney Fantasy. Clubs, cooking lessons, shopping, animation classes, karaoke, basketball, mini-golf and Broadway caliber shows were just a mere handful of activities. You really cannot do everything – even in seven days.
Our Disney Fantasy Cruise took us to the Eastern Caribbean where we made stops in St. Maarten, St. John via St. Thomas and Castaway Cay (Bahamas). The entire experience was top notch and clean as a whistle. Disney takes care of its ships and its guests. You can be assured that if you aren’t happy, they’ll strive to make you happy. The cruises can be somewhat expensive, but I highly suggest taking at least a three day cruise to see Castaway Cay – it’s like heaven on earth for beach lovers.
With that, I’ll stop writing a novel and let you see some of the videos and photos we took while aboard the Disney Fantasy. The first video is a complete (approx 40 minute) tour of the Disney Fantasy. The second video is the first segment which features the Disney Fantasy in the Eastern Caribbean episode. Both have different footage, so be sure to watch both.
